The Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist have been trained, commissioned, and are charged to help in the distribution of the Eucharist at the celebration of Mass and when possible to the sick. Their role at the Sunday Eucharist in particular, helps in the reverent distribution of the Sacrament to the congregation, normally under the species of both the Eucharistic Bread and the Precious Blood.
Their role unfolds in reaching out to the sick and the elders of the Community who are home-bound or are in hospital or at a Care-Rehabilitation Center. Eucharistic Ministers help enable the whole Church to be fed on a weekly basis through their service and commitment to our Lord present in Holy Communion.
If you feel called to this ministry please speak with our pastor, Friar Noel.
Requirements: Be a practicing Catholic and in good standing in the Church.
Attend a training session for Eucharistic Ministers.
Be Virtus--trained.
