An opportunity for children, teens and adults to serve your pastor at the Table of the Lord as an "Altar Server." You have an important role in asssiting both the celebrant and the congregation as you serve at the Altar of God.
Servers provide a variety of functions from leading the procession, to holding the missal, to carrying the gifts, vessels and linens to the Altar.
Servers are instrumental in making the flow of liturgical action seamless as they help guide the Assembly in posture (standing, sitting or kneeling) at liturgy or in para-liturgical services (i.e., a wedding, funeral, stations of the Cross, benediction service).
Servers require the need to be calm and attentive particularly when needing to procure missing items during the course of service.
We invoke the patron saint of servers, St. John Berchman to draw forth servers for the present and future needs of the Church. Pray for us!
